This article was very interesting to me. Without our Zoom discussion and classmates annotations, I fear that I would still be very confused on what exactly Amelia Jones was trying to get at. Once understanding her argument that we should judge art in a more dynamic and inclusive way, I agreed with her point. Jones is criticizing traditional aesthetic judgements. She explains that this tactic may seem foolproof, but in reality, art is very subjective and each individual will view a piece of art very differently than another. Intro Post Paige Hyatt

Hello! My name is Paige Hyatt. I am a senior studying Studio Art with a minor in Creative Wellness. I love ceramics and it is my main focus of my major. I like to go outside in nature on hikes and I love to swim. I also played golf in high school, and I still consider it to be one of my hobbies. I am excited for this course because I really enjoy learning about the history of art! I want to be able to interpret art better and understand readings about art better by the end of this course.  Me at The Met this summer (blogger ruined the resolution for some reason)     The piece of art I chose to share for my introduction is a platter by the French potter named Bernard Palissy. He is one of my all time favorite potters because of the colors he uses on his pieces and the intricate details.
